As of midnight last night Harris Hotel and Casino entertainment Corp. has slowly begun the process of taking over the Planet Hollywood casinos. The Planet Hollywood resort’s have been in trouble for some time and are now looking for a way out. The entertainment and gambling giant, Harrahs is in the process of purchasing the company from its previous owners. This would be a slow and silent process complete with a full takeover of the casino resort company.

The current operator of the Planet Hollywood Casino and Hotel resorts has been maintained by the Sheraton operating Corp. which began its current management of the chain in 2004. A 20 year agreement was solidified at that time with plans for the future of the casino resort. With the drowning economy and some bad luck on Planet Hollywood’s end, Harrah’s entertainment will now take over the 2496 room hotel along with the restaurants included in the venue. The only exception to this venue will be the newly created Planet Hollywood tower which recently opened at the end of last year and is currently under management by Westgate company.

The casino portion of Planet Hollywood will remain under its current operator until the finalization has occurred for the agreement of the entire resort. Gary Loveman, Chief Executive Officer for the Harrah’s Entertainment corporation has stated, “We continue to work on a plan that would allow Harrah’s to own and manage the entire casino-resort property.” these new changes that are happening on the property will not affect the current employees of the casino resort and most likely the system will remain completely intact with the exception of new regulations that fall under the Harrah’s entertainment umbrella. This’ll be a slow process of letting go by the co-owner of Planet Hollywood, Robert Earl. Harris Casino and Hotel resort entertainment company has been preparing for this moment for quite some time and the 2010 new year has already put some of the key people in place to maintain and operate the Planet Hollywood Casino resort.
